Pluto in Aquarius – My Take (and a Few Crystal Tips)
I’ve never been a trend follower when it comes to the metaphysical side of life. Don’t get me wrong—I love astrology, crystals and all the “woo-woo.” But when it turns grand or hyped, I tend to switch off.
I’ve seen too many crazes: the Moldavite craze in the 1990s and now, the Shungite craze, the Lion’s Gate craze—all those “new”, or renamed modalities where suddenly everyone is rushing to try it. And of course, every time Mercury goes retrograde, it’s red-alert panic. Yip, it can be a pain if you’re sensitive, but I reckon it’s also a great time to pause and make the most of the reset.
Then along came the talk of Pluto in Aquarius the other year. Now it's not treading, let's take a peek.
A Little Pluto Reality Check
First things first—yes, some astronomers say Pluto isn’t a planet anymore. That’s cool. But something is still out there, orbiting our Sun. Through powerful telescopes, you can see “something,” and energetically, that counts for me. Maybe that’s why Pluto carries the vibe of mystery and hidden power.
I ignored the early hype, but Pluto is here to stay for quite a while. If you’re into astrology, read on. If not, maybe this blog isn’t your cup of tea.
Calling in Backup
I’m not an astrologer, but I was obsessed with it in my teens and early twenties. To double-check whether this was really a biggie, I messaged my friend Paula from Dragon Space—a super-wise witch who’s constantly tracking the planets for her spells, charms and oil blends. She confirmed it: interesting times ahead with Pluto in Aquarius.
Why Pluto in Aquarius Matters
In astrology, Pluto represents deep transformation, power, and rebirth—the planet of endings and new beginnings.
Aquarius highlights originality, community and forward-thinking ideas—friendships, social networks, innovation and humanitarian goals.
Pluto’s move from Capricorn into Aquarius is one of the biggest shifts of the decade:
First dip: March–June 2023 (a quick preview)
Back and forth: Late Capricorn/early Aquarius through 2024
Full time: From 19 November 2024, with only tiny retrograde wobbles, until early 2044
From 2026 onward it’s full steam ahead. Over the next two decades, we can expect:
Clean Energy & Climate Tech – breakthroughs in renewables, smart grids and water conservation, vital for southern regions like New Zealand and Australia.
Community Power – grass-roots networks, co-ops and stronger iwi/First Nations voices in local decision-making.
Science & Space – leaps in space exploration, AI and medical science; southern observatories and research hubs could shine.
Democracy & Systems – old political structures tested, calls for transparency and citizen-led reform.
Pluto is expected to leave Aquarius and enter Pisces around March 2043, giving us a long runway for change.
