Palo Santo: Holy Wood for Cleansing & Positive Energy

Palo Santo: Holy Wood for Cleansing & Positive Energy

Palo Santo, often called Holy Wood, is a sacred tree native to South America and loved for its sweet, uplifting aroma and powerful cleansing properties. At Blissful Things, we offer beautifully fragrant Palo Santo that’s perfect for spiritual rituals and everyday energy clearing.

What Is Palo Santo?

Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) has been used for centuries by South American cultures for smudging, meditation, and spiritual cleansing. When lit, it releases a warm, sweet, earthy fragrance that calms the mind, clears negative energy, and raises the vibration of your space.

How to Use Palo Santo

  1. Light the Tip: Hold the stick at a 45-degree angle and ignite the end until it catches a steady flame.

  2. Let It Smoulder: Gently blow out the flame so it produces fragrant smoke.

  3. Cleanse Your Space: Walk through your home, workspace, or meditation area, allowing the smoke to drift into corners and around doorways to refresh the energy.

  4. Extinguish Safely: Place the glowing end in a fire-safe bowl, shell, or ceramic dish. A small bowl of sand is ideal for quickly putting out embers.

💡 Tip for Longer Use
Chop the stick in half before first use so it lasts longer. Between smudging sessions, store the pieces in a sealed plastic bag or airtight container to retain their natural aroma. Keep Palo Santo in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Safety Reminders

  • ⚠️ Never leave a smouldering stick unattended.

  • Ensure the embers are fully out before leaving the room or disposing of ash.

  • Keep away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
