Today’s topic of conversation is unwanted guests.
Sometimes I'm inspired by you guys, my amazing customers. We have some really cool conversations. Sometimes you inspire me to write blogs, so in the case of a super cool lady full of positivity, that’s exactly what happened! Thanks for the idea and inspo — you know who you are. Thank you for sharing your lightness and allowing me to pass that on.
With Christmas and the holidays coming up, stress can be heightened as we often feel under the pump.
So you’ve seen the blog title. Now, on a page like this, you might think I’m talking about unwanted energies, ghosts, or spirits… but nope. I’m talking about the physical kind.
You know the ones — Uncle Rada Rada or Nana X — who just can’t help rocking the boat, saying things that rub you the wrong way, or bringing a certain… challenging energy into the house.
You love them… even when it’s complicated. There’s no choice in the matter.
Whether you’re hosting them for two hours, two days, or (heaven help us) two weeks — it can be a pain in the backside. Sometimes you just do the best you can in the moment.
So… where do crystals come into this?
First things first — please don’t throw any rocks at anyone. I don’t want a lawsuit on my hands 😄
But there are ways we can gently strategise to make those uncomfortable hours or days feel a whole lot easier.
Clusters = Group Energy
Clusters are crystals that have grown together naturally, working in harmony — think group energy.
These little powerhouses are said to bring calm into a space because of their collective nature. They grew together happily, so they tend to “share the love.”
Clusters are also wonderful to zone out with — almost like watching a fish tank. A perfect little mental escape when conversations get… testing.
Great cluster choices include:
Amethyst – promotes a calm, soothing atmosphere
Agates with Druze (those tiny sparkly crystals), including Blue Lace or Banded Agate
Clear Quartz – classic, clean, and balancing
Citrine – the sunshine stone, known for not holding onto negative energy
Any cluster works. Place it somewhere visible so it becomes a focal point — or even a talking point. Or keep it beside your bed or wherever brings you peace.
Pocket Stones – Your Little Support Team
Pocket stones can be flat stones, tumbles, or shaped pieces — easy to carry and quietly grounding. Popping one under your pillow or next to the bed is lovely too.
When I think of unwanted energy, I often think of:
Obsidian – great for protection and cutting energetic ties
Carnelian – a happy, bubble-like stone that helps stop others from stepping on your flame. Having one in your pocket can give you a little boost of confidence and joy
Amethyst – calming, soothing, and universally liked
Citrine (natural or heat-treated) – again, not known for holding onto negative energy
If you have lots of tumbles, placing them together in a bowl can be lovely — once again tapping into that collective energy.
A Gentle Reality Check
Crystals can’t physically remove unwanted guests (sadly — they are in physical form 😅).
But they can take the edge off, soften the mood, and help create a calmer space for everyone involved.
A Few Other Things That Can Help
Distraction — walks, swims, outdoor time
Meditation — apps like Headspace, Spotify playlists, or free videos on YouTube
Clear the clutter — it really does help clear the mind
If they’re staying a while, encourage outings — visiting old friends, sightseeing, or exploring the area
Give them a job (this one works surprisingly well!)
One thing I personally do is listen objectively, like I’m watching a TV documentary.
Instead of getting emotionally pulled in, I observe:
“Interesting… they get frustrated at the toaster.”
By stepping back and observing, it shifts how your brain responds. It removes the emotional charge — and honestly, sometimes it becomes quite funny.
Final Thoughts
So while crystals won’t send Uncle Rada Rada packing, they can help you stay calm, grounded, and a little more centred while riding it out.
We wish you the very best of luck with your unwanted guests — and may your patience be strong and your crystals even stronger 💎✨
Disclaimer: I love all my Friends, Family, and Customers. This is a light-hearted post.
