Prasiolite, also known as Green Amethyst, is a rare green variety of quartz with the same chemical structure as Amethyst (SiO₂). Its soft green colour usually results from the heat treatment of certain Amethyst crystals—in fact, almost all commercially available Prasiolite has been heat treated to produce its green coloration. In nature, Prasiolite only forms when Amethyst undergoes heating from nearby volcanic activity or other geothermal events. Scientifically, it shares the clarity and durability of quartz, with a calming appearance that reflects its gentle energy. Metaphysically, Prasiolite is a heart chakra stone that supports emotional healing, compassion, and spiritual connection. It is said to help align the heart with higher guidance, encouraging clarity, growth, and a deeper connection to both nature and intuition.
