Anhydrite is a calcium sulfate mineral that forms naturally in evaporite deposits and is closely related to gypsum. Unlike gypsum, Anhydrite contains no water within its crystal structure. It can occur in a range of colours including white, grey, pale blue and violet, and has a Mohs hardness of approximately 3 to 3.5.

In crystal traditions, Anhydrite is associated with calm communication, spiritual awareness and a greater sense of connection. It is often linked with the throat and crown chakras and is believed to encourage clear self-expression, intuition and an open mind. Anhydrite is also used as a supportive stone during periods of change, helping to encourage acceptance, release old patterns and bring a greater sense of peace and balance.
