K2, also known as K2 Granite or K2 Jasper, is a striking and rare stone found at the base of the world’s second-highest mountain, Mount K2 in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan. This unique crystal is composed of white or grey granite with vivid blue orbs of azurite scattered throughout, creating a bold contrast. Scientifically, it’s a fascinating blend of quartz, feldspar, and azurite—an unusual combination since azurite typically forms in sedimentary environments, not within granite.
