Dendritic Opal, sometimes referred to as Merlinite, is a variety of common opal that contains tree- or fern-like inclusions called dendrites, typically composed of manganese or iron oxides. Unlike precious opal, it lacks a play of color but is prized for its striking, natural patterns that resemble delicate landscapes or ink paintings. Dendritic Opal forms in silica-rich environments and is composed primarily of hydrated silicon dioxide. Metaphysically, it is considered a stone of clarity, growth, and spiritual insight.
