This gives the stone its rich reddish-brown and black marbled appearance. Scientifically, it’s a type of amorphous silica, lacking a crystalline structure, which contributes to its smooth, glassy texture and conchoidal fracture. Metaphysically, Mahogany Obsidian is known as a stone of strength and protection. It’s believed to help release energetic blockages, especially those related to self-worth, and to provide grounding during times of upheaval or transformation.
