Red Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral characterised by a rich, deep red hue resulting from iron oxide inclusions. Like all calcites, it crystallizes in the trigonal system and has a Mohs hardness of 3, making it relatively soft and ideal for gentle handling or display.
