Citrine is a yellow to golden-brown variety of quartz (SiO₂) that gets its color from traces of iron within its crystal structure. Natural citrine is relatively rare, with most commercial specimens being heat-treated amethyst or smoky quartz to achieve its warm hues. It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, making it durable for jewelry and everyday use. Metaphysically, citrine is known as the "merchant’s stone" due to its strong association with abundance, prosperity, and success. It is believed to carry the energy of the sun, promoting joy, confidence, and motivation while dispelling negativity. Citrine is also thought to enhance creativity, boost self-esteem, and encourage a positive outlook, making it a powerful stone for manifestation and personal empowerment.
