Aromatic Sweetgrass (Hierochloe odorata), revered as an ancient healing medicine by the Sioux and Cree indigenous peoples. Symbolising healing, peace, strength, and community, each strand of sweetgrass represents resilience, with the braid embodying unity and fortitude. Sourced from the northern prairies, these sweetgrass braids hold profound significance in daily prayer and ritual. When smudging with sweetgrass, its purifying essence is believed to carry prayers to distant realms. Used intentionally alongside other herbs, particularly sage, sweetgrass fosters a harmonious energy exchange, attracting positivity while sage clears negativity, ensuring a balanced energy flow.
