Shungite is a unique, carbon-rich mineral primarily found in Russia but can come from other parts of the world.  Scientifically, it is notable for its high carbon content, which consists mainly of carbon molecules in the form of fullerenes, a structure of carbon atoms arranged in a hollow sphere. 
Metaphysically, shungite is considered a powerful stone in many spiritual traditions, believed to provide grounding and protection against electromagnetic radiation, negative energy, and environmental stress. While scientific evidence supporting these claims is limited, shungite remains a popular tool for those seeking balance and harmony in their surroundings.
Please note that Shungite is a soft mineral. Like all gemstones and crystals, they are made up of various minerals and elements, formed over 1000s of years. In some cases, crystals like Shungite have other minerals within them. Because of the softness of this mineral and the variations of what types of minerals and other heavy trace elements may or may not be present, we do not recommend Shungite for water purification.
