Goniatite Ammonite Fossils (Atlas Mountains, Morocco)

These fascinating ancient marine creatures swam in tropical oceans during the Devonian period, around 400 million years ago. Ammonites are part of the cephalopod family, closely related to today’s squid and octopus.

The Goniatite ammonites are especially notable for the wavy lines decorating their shells, which trace the chambers used to regulate buoyancy, allowing these animals to navigate different ocean depths with ease.

These fossils are carefully collected from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, a region renowned for producing beautifully preserved ammonite specimens. Each piece is a unique window into a time when the seas were dominated by these remarkable molluscs.
