Carnelian, Tumbled, From Coromandel, New Zealand

This Carnelian was found in the Coromandel, New Zealand, and tumble-polished locally.
Please note: this is a very hard material. Even after polishing, some pieces may still have small cavities or areas where the surface hasn’t taken a full polish.

Carnelian from the Coromandel is a type of Chalcedony, so it’s completely normal to see varying degrees of smoothness and shaping, sometimes even within the same stone. Colours can range from white chalcedony through to burnt orange tones, and occasionally a brownish golden-yellow band — all characteristic of this location.

Carnelian, an exquisite orange-red gemstone, is a type of chalcedony formed from quartz. This semi-precious stone, known for its high iron oxide content, is prized for its lively color and potential metaphysical benefits. Renowned for enhancing motivation, creativity, and vitality, Carnelian is a popular choice for both  jewellery and healing practices. Its distinct colour and energetic properties make it a favourite among crystal enthusiasts and individuals looking to boost their confidence and personal energy. Whether used in decorative pieces or as a potent talisman, Carnelian continues to charm and inspire with its beauty and versatility.
