Ammonite with Opal Polished

Triassic-Cretaceous

Ammonites are part of the Nautiloid family and similar to the Nautilus species we see in our oceans today. These ancient marine creatures are now extinct relatives of modern cephalopods, such as squid and octopus. Their distinctive spiral shells, often beautifully fossilised, display intricate chamber patterns that once helped them regulate buoyancy in the water. Scientifically fascinating due to their evolutionary history and use in dating rock layers, ammonites also hold strong metaphysical significance. They are believed to carry the energy of continual change and evolution, offering grounding and protection while encouraging stability during transformation. Their spiral shape is often seen as a symbol of the cosmic cycle and the flow of life itself. This Ammonite has skillfully been cut and then polished to show the classic Nautiloid chambers.
