Red Moss Agate is a beautiful variety of agate that features striking inclusions of red, brown, and orange minerals, often resembling moss or plant-like formations within the stone. Scientifically, it is a form of chalcedony, a variety of quartz, and the inclusions are typically made up of iron or manganese oxides, which create the vivid, earthy patterns. The stone is formed through the slow cooling of volcanic lava, which allows mineral-rich fluids to deposit within cavities, creating its distinct appearance. Metaphysically, red moss agate is considered a powerful stone for grounding and nurturing.
