Mahogany Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed when lava cools rapidly, trapping minerals like iron and hematite within its structure. This gives the stone its rich reddish-brown and black marbled appearance. Scientifically, it’s a type of amorphous silica, lacking a crystalline structure, which contributes to its smooth, glassy texture and conchoidal fracture. Metaphysically, Mahogany Obsidian is known as a stone of strength and protection.
