Purple Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline variety of quartz composed of tiny intergrowths of quartz and other minerals, giving it a smooth, waxy lustre. Its colour ranges from soft lavender to deep violet due to trace elements like manganese. Scientifically, chalcedony forms in volcanic and sedimentary environments through the slow deposition of silica-rich solutions, often creating banded or translucent specimens. Metaphysically, Purple Chalcedony is associated with spiritual growth, inner peace, and heightened intuition. It is believed to enhance communication, particularly in channelling and clairvoyance, while also promoting emotional balance and calming overactive thoughts.
