K2, also known as Raindrop Azurite or K2 Granite, is a striking and unusual stone found in the remote mountains of northern Pakistan near the base of the K2 peak. Scientifically it is a fine-grained white granite composed mainly of quartz, feldspar, and small flakes of biotite, naturally dotted with bright blue spots of the copper mineral azurite. These vivid blue “raindrops” formed later when copper-rich fluids moved through tiny fractures in the granite, depositing azurite within the rock.

Metaphysically, K2 is often seen as a stone that balances earth and spirit. The grounding energy of the granite combines with the higher-vibration energy of azurite, making it a popular stone for meditation, intuition, and spiritual insight. It is commonly associated with the Third Eye and Crown chakras, helping to strengthen inner awareness while keeping one grounded and centred in everyday life.
