Blue Tiger’s Eye, also known as Hawk’s Eye, is a member of the quartz family and a pseudomorph of crocidolite, where fibrous asbestos-like minerals have been replaced by silica while retaining the original fibrous structure. This gives the stone its distinctive silky chatoyancy — a shimmering, reflective effect that appears to move across the surface. Its deep blue to blue-grey tones are due to natural iron staining and oxidation processes. On the Mohs scale, it has a hardness of about 6.5 to 7, making it durable for jewellery and ornamental use. Metaphysically, Blue Tiger’s Eye is associated with calm focus, inner vision, and clear communication. It is believed to soothe stress, enhance intuition, and open the throat and third eye chakras, encouraging clarity in thought and speech. Often used for calming overactive minds, it is thought to help balance emotional energy while maintaining a strong, grounded presence.
