Iris Agate is a fascinating variety of banded agate that can reveal beautiful rainbow colours when a thin slice is held up to a strong light. These shimmering colours are created naturally as light passes through the agate's incredibly fine layers, producing a stunning optical effect. While some pieces display this striking iridescence, not every specimen will produce a visible rainbow effect.
Please note: I had hoped this piece would show the characteristic rainbow colours, but it does not. It is still a genuine Iris Agate with attractive natural banding and has been placed in our Clearance section and priced accordingly.
