Zebra Calcite is a banded form of calcite made of calcium carbonate, typically showing cream, brown, tan, and white stripes formed through natural layering over millions of years. It is a relatively soft mineral (Mohs hardness ~3) and is often mistaken for other “zebra” stones.It is important to note that several stones are referred to as “zebra” stones, including Zebra Stone (a layered schist) and two varieties of Zebra Jasper in black-and-white and brown-and-white forms. Metaphysically, Zebra Calcite is associated with balance, emotional healing, and motivation, helping to encourage harmony between opposing energies and support personal growth.
