With larger tumbled pieces that have been polished here in New Zealand, it's not uncommon to find the occasional dull spot. This can be due to the size of the material, as well as the presence of chalcedony and other mineralisation within the stone. Different minerals vary in hardness and how well they take a polish during tumbling, so some areas may have a slightly duller finish.

Milky Chalcedony is a gentle, translucent white variety of microcrystalline quartz, formed from fine intergrowths of quartz. Its soft, creamy appearance is the result of microscopic inclusions that scatter light, giving it that peaceful, cloud-like glow.
