Carnelian, Tumbled, From Coromandel, New Zealand
Please refer to the photo with a ruler for size. Aprox 70grams.
This Carnelian was found in the Coromandel, New Zealand, and tumble-polished locally.
Please note: this is a very hard material. Even after polishing, some pieces may still have small cavities or areas where the surface hasn’t taken a full polish.
Carnelian from the Coromandel is a type of Chalcedony, so it’s completely normal to see varying degrees of smoothness and shaping, sometimes even within the same stone. Colours can range from white chalcedony through to burnt orange tones, and occasionally a brownish golden-yellow band — all characteristic of this location.
Metaphysically, Carnelian is associated with motivation, confidence, creativity and vitality. Often considered a stone of action and personal power, it is believed to encourage courage, enthusiasm and the confidence to move forward with new ideas or goals. Carnelian is also connected with the Sacral Chakra.
